Guns, Germs, and Steel
Today is the first day we met as a class. There are three Emily's in the class. We created a new blog for Western Civilization and then we watched a movie called Guns, Germs, and Steel. The main character in the movie is Jared Diamond. He was a professor at UCLA and was a biologist there, but his real passion is studying birds. He traveled to Papua New Guinea at age 26. He still makes regular trips there everyday. People have been living in papa new guinea for 40,000 years.Why do you white men have so much cargo and we new guineas have so little?
